Fortrose Harbour View *
Fortrose Harbour is a quiet backwater leased by Chanonry Sailing Club and supporting leisure craft and activity.
The harbour was completed in 1817 by Thomas Telford with a 170ft (51.7m) pier added in 1878. The harbour was also very fundamental during the Second World War, it was a ‘hush hush’ combined operations base and had a direct role in the preparations for the D-Day landings in 1944.
