An Cuan Moireach
An Cuan Moireach meaning The Moray Firth in Gaelic.
The Moray Firth is the largest firth in Scotland, stretching from Duncansby Head (near John o' Groats) in the north, and Fraserburgh in the east, to Inverness and the Beauly Firth in the west.
The Moray firth is famous for many things, but in my Celtic and pictish inspired painting, I wanted to highlight the bottlenose dolphins, the herring (called Silver Darlings) and the old fishing vessels called skiffs. My painting has strong links to the Groam House Museum in Rosemarkie which is worth a visit to its rotating collection of artifacts.
